Exercise
We have a range of structured exercise options to help you achieve your goals, no matter where you are now and where you want to be.
What’s included in Exercise?
From Pilates classes, to Clinical Exercise and Personal Training we have options to help you move your body, wherever you're at.
At our Movement and Wellbeing Centre we have a large group room and an equipment room with a selection of gym and Pilates equipment. Guided by our wonderful team we can help you maintain your fitness, recover from an injury, or just fall in love with moving your body again.
Small Group Clinical Exercise/Pilates
Beginning with an individual Physiotherapy assessment to discuss your concerns and goals we create a plan to help you get there. These sessions are ideal if you are wanting to achieve something specific or if you have pain, as we can modify exercises based on your body to ensure you get the most out of your sessions.
Your initial session involves an assessment, introduction to the equipment and a few initial exercises. After an initial session we can generally move into a duet session (yourself and one other patient) and once you're a bit more confident with your program we offer our small group sessions with 4 patients. Each of you will be doing your own program based on your needs.
Mat and Reformer Pilates Classes
Ready to move? These sessions are ideal for those wanting to build some strength and flexibility. Our mat classes are there for those wanting to get down on a mat and use a range of bodyweight and small equipment exercises to build strength and flexibility. Our reformer sessions are based on a Pilates reformer; a piece of spring loaded equipment that allows us to create some resistance to help you improve your strength, flexibility and balance.
Both our mat and reformer classes run for 45-50min.
Small Group Gym Sessions
In our studio we have some basic gym equipment, and for anything more we have access to the full gym set up at Stawell Fitness. If you are recovering from an injury, or just looking to build your fitness with some guidance from a health professional we have you covered.
An initial Physiotherapy assessment is required to review your concerns and goals which then enables us to create an individualised program tailored to you.

For our regular Pilates classes anyone is welcome to join. We would encourage anyone who has had a baby in the last 6-12 months to do our Strong Mum's class as we know that the exercises are aimed at the postnatal population. In our Mixed Reformer classes half of the participants start on a mat and the other half on a reformer and ahlf way through the class everyone swaps over, ensuring that you get the best of both.
